The overall objective (goal) of the Project is to contribute to disaster risk reduction, by reducing vulnerability, and building resilience in the Federated States of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Tuvalu. At the Same time the Project will contribute to poverty reduction and improved sustainability development in targeted communities.

The purpose of the Project is to develop and strengthen selected communities in either access to safe drinking water, or emergency operations/communications. The choice of sectors has been selected based on extensive consultation with National authorities and is based on country priorities as described in National Disaster Plans.
